It has been a little over a year since my sister passed, and it has been a very difficult 5 months for me mentally. Never have I wished I had someone by my side than I do now. Not saying that having a man would ease the pain, but having him to just be there with me as I go through the phases of grief would be comforting. Yet, in the same breath I must admit at this point in my life I have been very resistant when it comes to forming new relationships and that goes for new friendships as well. Suffering such a tough loss as losing a sibling and so suddenly I have began to have this fear that if I form a close bond it can be taken away from me suddenly just like my sister was. I'm afraid to be vulnerable and open up myself to really get to know new people or let them get to know me.
